WHat to Expect on Template day

---

- Clear the Workspace: Please remove everything from existing countertops and nearby surfaces

- Cabinets Installed & Level: All base cabinets must be fully secured and level before we can measure 

- Sink, Faucet, & Appliances On-Site: especially your sink and cooktop, so we can match cutouts exactly 

o Things to Consider: 

- Farm sinks need to be installed before the template 

- undermount sinks are installed with brackets or sink clips 

- Plumbing & Electrical complete: fixtures, outlets, and switches should be in their final location 

- Pets in a safe space: for everyone’s safety, please keep pets away from the work area

- Arrival window: expect a 2-hour arrival window, we will contact if we are running ahead or behind schedule

- Measure and Map Out Layout: Measurements are taken, and a physical pattern of your countertops is created with plywood strips

o We mark all cutouts (sink, cooktop, faucet holes)

- We confirm overhangs, backsplash height, seam placement, and any special shapes 

- Existing cabinets and backsplash: for accurate measurements, any existing backsplash may need to be removed. We can remove it if required 

· Trimming: for simple countertops, expect possible trimming along the sides for a precise fit

· Tile backsplash consideration: Please let us know ahead of time if you plan to add a tile backsplash 

· Thin tile: we’ll scribe (adjust) the template to fit against the tile

· Thick tile: We’ll follow a standard template process

- Timeframe:

o Midsize project 2-3 hours

o Large project (over 100 sq. ft) 4-5 hours 

o Custom/complex layout may require up to 2 days or a full day 

 - Your measurements go to the fabrication shop

- Your slabs are cut to match the approved template 

- We schedule your installation depending on our shop’s schedule
